The university does not expect specialist medical knowledge.

No Formula Memorisation

Before your Leicester interview: what you need to do.

Leicester requires applicants to complete important administrative steps before their interview. Missing these instructions can affect the application.

  1. Check Your Interview Invitation

Leicester expects to start sending invitations in late November 2026. Check your inbox and spam folder regularly. Add @le.ac.uk to your safe senders.

  2. Complete the Consent Form

Leicester asks applicants to complete a consent form before interview. Follow the instructions in your invitation.

  3. Upload Academic Certificates

Applicants must upload the required academic certificates to the university's student portal. Leicester states that these requirements are important and missing them may affect the interview process.

  4. Prepare for the Numeracy Test

Review basic mental arithmetic without assuming advanced medical knowledge is required.

  5. Request Reasonable Adjustments

If you normally receive examination adjustments, contact Leicester as soon as possible and provide the supporting information requested.

  6. Review Your Interview Arrangements

Check the official date, location or online instructions and follow the university's requirements.

Leicester states that it may not be possible to offer alternative interview dates or reschedule appointments. Stage 4 warns that missing the consent and certificate steps may affect your interview score.

How interview performance contributes to selection.

Leicester explains that its MMI stations are scored and applicants are ranked using their total interview performance.

Station Scores

Each station contributes to the interview assessment. The 2027 Selection Policy states that stations are equally weighted.

Overall Assessment

Assessors also indicate whether they would be happy for an applicant to receive an offer. Candidates with a good overall score but an adverse assessor indication may be asked for a second interview.

Offer Decisions

Applicants are ranked by total interview score. Leicester reviews relevant application information before making offers, placing candidates on a waiting list or rejecting applications. Borderline cases receive additional review; tied rankings may be resolved using all aspects of the application.

Meeting academic requirements or attending interview does not guarantee an offer. MediBrain UK’s original mock interviews do not use Leicester’s official marking rubric.
